Butterfree is a Bug/Flying-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is the evolved form of Caterpie and the final form of Metapod. It is an incredibly versatile Pokémon, with moves such as Psychic, Confusion, and Sleep Powder, making it a formidable opponent.
Butterfree has a unique set of wings that are covered in a powdery substance that can be used to scatter its poisonous scales to paralyze its opponents. These wings also act as a shield against its enemies.
Its large eyes are able to detect even the slightest movement and it can fly at speeds of up to 60 mph. Its body is covered in a thick, waxy coating that helps protect it from the elements. It has the ability to use its antennae to detect the presence of its prey and track it down.
